Postal Butterfly with Distress Inks

Postal Butterfly with Distress Inks

Hi All! I had to use this butterfly set again. I just love, love butterflies on cards. Are you getting sick of it? I used a new embossing folder I bought by Tim Holtz. When you add ink on top, the raised portion really takes on a darker color. The black outline is actually free-hand coloring!
When you dry emboss the outside edge of the Spellbinders, it makes it easy (well, easier) to color in the edges. I didn’t feel like messing with cutting black cardstock by hand – I figured coloring with a marker would be faster. I colored the edges of of the butterfly wings with a Gelly Roll Stardust clear glitter pen (shout-out to Becky in Cincinnati, OH for reminding me that I had this pen!). It literally is like stardust! I decided to go a different route with music this week – it’s just some royalty-free instrumental I found on the web. I was thinking that maybe the vocals in the songs I was using in combination with my voice-over made the video a little too… um.. crowded? Plus it’s hit-or-miss on the music rights and all that. It’s a little easier to do it this way. Anyway, hope you still like it. :) Oh, one more thing – Lord, please have mercy on us in Dallas, TX with this 2-month heat wave!!! Amen. Enjoy!! Supplies:
